My gift making is coming very oh so close to an end… I can even smell it. It smells yummy and all Christmassy if you were wondering. I can’t wait to show you everything, but that would call for a longer post and I only have a moment as my children are feeling quite neglected these days and I am hoping to spend some good quality time with them today. My son really wants “King Burgers” for lunch… who could say no when he says it like that?
Okay, so I thought I would throw out some last minute ideas. Each of these took me maybe one hour to finish… seriously. And super easy too!
I bought this pattern super cheap and made this for the teachers. Lovely. I just added a little applique with their initial.
I made this reversible wine bottle bag for a gift exchange thingymabob with the grandparents/aunts/uncles/great grandparents Christmas. Added some cheese to go with it and it was a much sought after gift. You can find the pattern here.
I made these for a mom/daughter gift. I heart these so much, I made one for me while I was at it. I used this tutorial and just made it bigger for the adult one. You should meander around her blog as it has some fabulous ideas. I go there often for inspiration!
These headbands are another great last minute gift too!
Hope this inspires you to create!
Ta for now!
So, I’m having a lazy day. Is that ok? I feel like I rush, rush, rush to do everything and I have already had a busy morning so I am voting for a lazy afternoon. I think I am going to do a little bit of sewing. I got a great pattern recently. It is Dudley from Melly and Me. Too cute. Then, I’m going to just take it easy and enjoy the sun coming back out. Oh, how I have missed you sun!
Before I forget, Abbie, over at The Handmade Quilter is giving away a fantastic quilt. The story behind it is amazing, so be sure to read it and then enter to win. I would love to give a quilt away one day. I just don’t seem to have the time to make one. Maybe it just isn’t my season right now for quilts. But, I do miss quilting oh so much.
Well, I just can’t do another post without any pictures, so here are some more drawstring bags I made. The Thomas ones are for my son and the baseball ones were for a neighbor. I just love these bags. They are so easy and way up there on the cuteness scale.
I should also let you all know that my blog look will be changing, hopefully, very soon. I love this brown background. It is cute and comfy, but not really me. A fantastic friend of mine is working on a fabulously fun logo for me and when that is done… watch out because change will be a coming! (On a side note, it is a known fact that I LOVE LOVE change, so this may not be the only time I will change things around here… hope you like change too.) It will give you more of a sense of me and my design style. It will reflect more of how I look at fabric and color! Yay! I am excited. So, keep checking back and just be patient with me. I’m not super computer savvy, but that’s what I have the hubby for… well that’s not the ONLY reason I have him, but it sure is a great perk!
I know it has only been a couple of days, but I feel like I have been away from you all for far too long. Sorry my sweet bloggers!
I made these drawstring bags for our neighbor’s 2nd birthday party today. I used this great tutorial that I happened upon one day. I think they will be great for storing little cars or other such nick knacks. It is a great idea for a little boy. Sometimes it is so hard to find ideas for making something for a boy. Now my son wants some. I think he is due since I haven’t made him anything since I made my first quilt (I know, mother of the year material right here people!). Maybe I’ll post some pics of that one day… one thing at a time, Carrie!
I feel like it is so hard to find good boy material. I love this plaid, but are there any other sources out there for good boy material?? Maybe I’m just too picky because I am surrounded around men who get all crazy about things looking only boy. What is it about men and that kind of stuff? It makes me crazy sometimes, but none the less, if anyone has any good “boy material” sources, I’d love to know.
I am hoping to post some pictures tomorrow of my latest project for my craft nook. Oh, I haven’t mentioned how I got a craft nook… it is sooooo exciting. No more kitchen table for my crafting/sewing anymore people! I have a real life sewing nook. No more hauling things out and then back again so we can actually eat dinner together. My sweet hubby made me a sewing table and a cutting table for my birthday. Put that on top of my crazy sweet scissors and I couldn’t have been happier to turn… what was it… 21ish, right? Let’s go with that. We did a little switch a roo in the bonus room and now I have my very own space. It is so exciting. I feel like a real seamstress now. Anyhow, I made some inspiration boards recently and just got them put up. I love them, but now I am having a hard time putting stuff on them because I love how they look just by themselves. Maybe the fabric on them will have to be enough inspiration for right now. So, stay tuned!
